Lighting Not in Place Where Sleeping

Hi,

If I’m a bochur in a shared basement, and due to issues of domestic violence I’m not able to light in the place I sleep, is it better that I light at a friend’s house if I go there for a meal than to not light at all?

    I am so sorry to hear that you are in such a difficult position right now and I hope and daven that the situation improve radically very soon.

    The optimal thing to do is to sleep over at your friend’s home if possible. If that is not a viable possibility, the best thing to do is to light in the place where you eat a proper meal.
