Erasing Letters on Shabbos

Question

Shalom aleichem Rabbi Lauffer. On Shabbos, would it be problematic to handle a plastic bag full of challah rolls if by doing so some of the ink from the logo on the package comes off on one’s hands, thereby causing ink to adhere to one’s hands, and also thereby removing some of the ink from the package? Thanks.

    Personally, I think that it is not a problem, as you are not erasing the letters in order to be able to write something else in its place. However, I do think that if there is a particular bag that you know is problematic, you should change the bag when you bring it home to a bag whose ink does not run.
