Business on Shabbat

Question

May a Jewish person earn money via youtube.com or amazon.com? A Jew does not do business on Shabbat or on Yom Tov. Other people might use youtube or amazon on those days.

    In general, it is forbidden for a Jew to work on Shabbat and/or to make money on Shabbat. That means that having a business that generates income on Shabbat is forbidden. There are certain things that a person can do to ensure that they are not transgressing any Shabbat Laws but the person would need to sit with a local authority who is an expert in the various laws to discuss what can and cannot be done.
