What is the youngest age a girl can have a bat mitzvah? Can it be in her 12th year but not yet 12?

    The phrase “and one day” does not mean a day after the 12th birthday, but rather means that it is the 12th birthday, since the day of birth is the first day and the 12th birthday is another day – therefore the day of the 12th birthday totals 12 years “and one day” of life from the time of birth.
