Adult Having Laws of a Child

Does the Gemara, Shulchan Aruch, or other Jewish sources talk about how a man can have a demotion to legally be considered like a child?

    The only thing that might be similar is an adult who is not mentally cognizant. The Talmud (first chapter of Tractate Chagiga) groups such a person together with children. However, in general, an adult is regarded as Halachically responsible for all his actions regardless of how childishly he might behave.
