Besamim

Question

When it comes to besamim at havdalah a) can it be recited over besamim which are still on the plants themselves on the ground b) can they be “pagum” like wine when used, if so can they be un pagumed like you can add wine to a kiddush cup

    a) I am not familiar with Teshuvos that deal with your specific question. However, it seems from all the Halachic literature that there is on Besamim, that there is a general understanding that the Besamim are not attached to their source.

    b) There is no concept of “pagum” with Besamim. Actually, I am unsure how the Halacha of “pagum” could be applied to Besamim.
