Cutting Tefillin Strap

Question

Can one cut the end of the tefillin strap of the arm? Mine is all cracked and messed up at the end. Can I cut off?

    Yes, you can. There is no problem cutting the strap with a sharp pair of scissors/box cutter/utility knife so long as the strap remains long enough according to the Halacha. It is best to say “Leshem Mitzvos Tefillin” before cutting it.
