Bringing in Rosh Hashana Early

Question

I know we can make an early Shabbat. This year Rosh Hashana falls on Friday night. Can we make an early Rosh Hashana?

    Some authorities permit it, just like a regular Shabbat, and others rule that Rosh Hashana should not be brought in early. The reason for those who rule not to is because Rosh Hashana is the Day of Judgment and the concept of being judged for life on Rosh Hashana is formidable enough, without adding to it.
