Can or may a Jewish Conservative rabbi officiate at the burial of a Jew in a public non-denominational cemetery?

    If the burial spot is in a portion of the cemetery designated specifically for Jewish people, there is no problem. Otherwise, a Jew should do everything he can to try to have the burial moved to a Jewish cemetery. Being buried in a non-Jewish cemetery is the source of immeasurable anguish for the soul of the deceased, and one should do everything possible to ensure it doesn’t happen. There are actually organizations in America that help people to try and stop such occurrences from taking place.
