Answers
The word klipah means a peel in Modern Hebrew, and the klipot are the external dimension of each physical entity in this world.
In the same way that the peel of a fruit hides the essence of the fruit, so too the klipot hide the essence of the human being. In simple terms this means that the physical body is the klipah of the soul. And on a more esoteric level, it means that the klipah covers the spirituality in a veneer of physicality – thus making it harder to identify and to connect to.
