Going Out on Shabbat

Question

I shouldn’t go anywhere on Shabbat, but I should go to synagogue on Shabbat – I’m confused.

    There is no problem with going out on Shabbat to do permitted activities. For example, it is perfectly okay to walk to a friend’s house or to go for a walk in the park. What is forbidden is to do any action that would transgress one of the Shabbat commandments. So, for example, driving to a friend on Shabbat would be forbidden, as would driving to a Synagogue.
