Fasting: What Can Be Done

If I take a fast upon myself from sun up to sundown, can I drink water/coffee, shower, brush my teeth?

    It is permissible to shower on a Fast day. According to some authorities it is permissible to rinse out one’s mouth in the morning but only by bending over so that none of the liquid is inadvertently swallowed. It is forbidden to drink anything from the onset of the Fast until its conclusion.
