Answers
While many sacrifices were forbidden to bring on the Sabbath, certain sacrifices were actually offered on the Sabbath.
They were the daily offerings, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. These were called Koban Tamid, meaning an “always offering” – even on the Sabbath.
In addition there was a special sacrificial service in the Temple on the Sabbath that was specific to the Sabbath, called a Korban Musaf – meaning an “additional offering” (on top of the always daily offerings).
